Diny Hartiningtias
Botany Co-program Manager

Diny is interested in forest ecology and conservation, biodiversity conservation awareness, and urban biodiversity. Her research focuses on forest dynamics , such as the impacts of wildfires on the population dynamics of the only pine species in the Southern Hemisphere, Pinus merkusii, as well as in other ecosystems in Indonesia. Prior to pursuing her grad degree, she worked in the Research Center for Climate Change, Universitas Indonesia as assistant project manager.

Over the past ten years, Diny has worked extensively in landscape-scale forest management, collaborating with various stakeholders such as universities, community groups, companies, and NGOs. Diny is also active in designing and implementing environmental education activities on various topics such as urban biodiversity (including butterflies and birds), local food, forest restoration, and Sumatran elephants.
