Indonesia is the home of thousands of endemic species, and it might need a lifetime to study them all and compile information about them. Toko Bonbeen, a creative artist who produces illustrated wildlife merchandises, approaches us in 2025 to create a series that introduces the rarely known biodiversity of Indonesia by the public through art merchandise products. Our team of experts carefully curated 8 species that represents four animal groups to be featured in this collaboration, then Toko Bonbeen beautifully illustrated them, turning them into stunning products.
Along with the merchandise production, a series of educational videos is created to further communicate the importance of saving those animals.

Toko Bonbeen is a creative business established on April 2024. Despite being young, we already have Sobat Bonbeen (our Customers and Fans) all across Indonesia! Auni (@adylaun), the artist behind the designs, is a Wildlife and Children Illustrator. Graduated from School of Life Science ITB, Auni wanted to introduce the amazing biodiversity with his passion in art. The name "Bonbeen" comes from the abbreviation of Kebon Binatang. This acronym is often used by people in some cities in Indonesia as a term for the zoo. Toko Bonbeen aims to raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity by highlighting unique animals through engaging artworks and products.
By August 2025, Toko Bonbeen will be available in consignment stores across seven cities in Indonesia: Depok, Bandung, Surabaya, Malang, Yogyakarta, Sumedang, and Bali. Furthermore, Toko Bonbeen actively sells through marketplaces like Shopee and Tokopedia. Every month, Toko Bonbeen also participates in offline events in cities across Java, such as Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung.
"The collaboration with Species Obscura was incredibly exciting and enjoyable. The direct contribution of experts in their fields to the products enhanced the value of the collaborative artwork. Furthermore, Species Obscura was very communicative and informative about the collaboration's progress. Looking forward to future collaborations." - Toko Bonbeen on working with Species Obscura
